Privacy policy

What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Last updated 23 August 2026 · Mael Technologies, Inc.

In plain terms. We collect the minimum we need to run Mael: your account details, what you look at inside the product, and payment records handled by our processor. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not send your data to advertisers.

1. Information we collect

You give us

  • Account information — name, email address, and the profile answers you provide when you join the waitlist or sign up.
  • Billing information — handled by our payment processor. We receive the last four digits, card brand, expiry and billing country; we never receive or store the full card number.
  • Communications — messages you send to support or sales.

We collect automatically

  • Usage data — assets you look up, projections you run, features you use, and aggregate performance metrics.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser and device type, timestamps, and error logs.

We do not collect your brokerage credentials, positions or account balances. Mael does not connect to your brokerage.

2. Why we use it

  • To provide, operate and secure the Service;
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions;
  • To respond to support and sales enquiries;
  • To improve accuracy and product quality using aggregated and de-identified usage data;
  • To send service messages, and marketing email you can unsubscribe from at any time;
  • To detect abuse and comply with legal obligations.

We process personal data where it is necessary to perform our contract with you, where we have a legitimate interest in operating and improving the Service that is not overridden by your rights, where you have consented (for example, to marketing email or non-essential cookies), and where we must comply with a legal obligation.

4. Who we share with

We share personal data only with service providers that help us run Mael, under contracts that limit what they may do with it:

  • Hosting and content delivery — to serve the website and application;
  • Payment processing — to take and manage subscription payments;
  • Email delivery — to send account and marketing email;
  • Analytics — to understand aggregate product usage;
  • AI model providers — see the next section.

We may also disclose data where required by law, to enforce our terms, or in connection with a merger or acquisition (in which case we will tell you). We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

5. AI processing

Mael sends market data, public filings and your query text to third-party AI model providers to generate analysis. We do not send your name, email, billing details or any other directly identifying information to those providers as part of a projection request. Where those providers offer it, we use enterprise or API terms that exclude your inputs from being used to train their models.

6. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to secure the Service; these cannot be turned off. Where we use analytics or preference cookies that are not strictly necessary, we ask for your consent first and you can withdraw it at any time.

7. How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is active and for up to 24 months afterwards, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Billing records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires (typically 7 years). Server logs are kept for up to 90 days. Waitlist entries are deleted within 24 months if you never sign up.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, to receive a portable copy, and to withdraw consent. California residents have the rights to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share, but you may still exercise the right. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

To make a request, email [email protected]. We respond within the time the applicable law requires, and we may need to verify your identity first. If you are in the UK or EU, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

9. International transfers

We operate from the United States and use providers located there and elsewhere. Where we transfer personal data out of the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK IDTA or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

10. Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege practices for internal access. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your personal data we will notify you and the relevant regulator as the law requires.

11. Children

Mael is not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us data, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We will post any revised policy here with a new “last updated” date, and notify you by email of material changes.
